IT – Technology Issue ~ Phishing Email: GRCC.EDU EMAIL ACCOUNT CONFIRMATION (10:04 am)

Technology Issue Notice: A phishing email from an outside source is attempting to harvest user logins.
Issue Summary: Email messages with the subject line: GRCC.EDU EMAIL ACCOUNT CONFIRMATION are propagating across campus.
These emails are posing as representatives of IT and are asking for user names and password to email accounts.

No legitimate organization would be contacting users directly for login credentials.
Any communication about scheduled network maintenance would be communicated from the IT department through GRCC Today, and our associated communication channels.

Please do not respond to these email messages.

Technology Issue Notice: GroupWise has been intermittently freezing/closing causing staff both on and off campus to not be able to access their e-mail account.

Resolution Details: The GroupWise network adapter kept dropping service. The GroupWise server had to be rebooted in order to resolve the issue.
